INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Jefferson Center for Mental Health offers placements for 2nd year students at the internship level of a master’s program in counseling, social work, or psychology.  A limited number of internships are also available to 1st year MSW students and/or BA students. The length of placement is typically two academic semesters with students required to commit to a minimum of 15-20 hours per week, primarily during the hours of 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Interns complete their internship with one primary treatment team for the entire length of their placement, however, interns are encouraged to observe and/or co-facilitate groups in other program teams, depending on interest. All positions, while unpaid, provide weekly supervision with a licensed mental health professional (LPC, LMFT, LCSW, Psy.D. or Ph.D.).

Applications are accepted beginning March 1 for the following fall, with interviews conducted throughout the spring.  Jefferson Center values diversity and encourages people from diverse backgrounds to apply. Placements typically begin in late August/early September and end the following May or June.
