Wellness Services at Jefferson Center

“Wellness” can feel overwhelming, and even unattainable at times, especially when you’re trying to manage so many areas of life at once. At Jefferson Center, we offer traditional and holistic approaches to improve your overall well-being – your mind and body!
Our program and services are built upon the six pillars of lifestyle medicine:
- A whole-food, plant-predominant eating pattern
- Physical activity
- Restorative sleep
- Stress management
- Avoidance of risky substances
- Positive social connections
At the foundation of the wellness program, we look at each of these areas and consider how they work together and affect one another. Our trained wellness coaches and instructors offer classes and coaching in welcoming and practical ways to help you live your healthiest life.
Each quarter, Jefferson Center offers a variety of wellness classes to meet the needs of both our clients and community. The classes are created with you in mind, as we look at managing stress, eating on a budget, gentle yoga, creating morning routines, creative writing and more.

Our classes are offered as a hybrid model – both in person at our Union Square and Independence locations and via zoom. Classes are free for Medicaid attendees and are $10/class for commercial insurance, self-pay and Medicare. Looking for a more individualized approach to your well-being? Our trained health coaches are here to help! Coaching is available as a six-session series to help you achieve your goals. Your coach will meet with you to talk about what’s important in your life, where you’d like to be, what your past successes are and more. They’ll then work with you to create a SMART goal and actionable small steps to achieve your goal.
Examples of goals are: drinking more water throughout the day, managing your stress, packing a lunch instead of eating out, sleeping eight hours a night, incorporating movement into your day and more.
Coaching is offered as a mix of in-person or zoom sessions with shorter telephone check ins as well. Coaching is $40/session or $240 for the series. STARTING MONDAY, OCTOBER 3
New to wellness at Jefferson Center? Just finished your intake and want additional support? Join us on Each Monday at 10am at our Independence location or virtually for an hour-long class that features samples of a nutrition-focused class, mindfulness and yoga! This class is an opportunity to learn more about wellness servicers and is not intended to be an on-going class. You do not need to be a current client and there’s no need to pre-register. Reduce stress, quiet the mind, and set intentions from the comfort of your home, office, or anywhere you’d like. In partnership with the Jefferson County Public Library, we are pleased to offer 30 minute call-in morning meditation sessions.
