Wielding The Power of Philanthropy to Spread Hope
Every December brings about a time of giving and gratitude. As the year enters its final days, we show our appreciation for the ones around us and reflect on what brought us gratitude from them. This time of the year, Jefferson Center celebrates the power of philanthropy. Spreading hope is the number one priority each day, in the belief that hope moves like a ripple through the each individual. And that effect is what builds a stronger, healthier community.
Over the course of 2025, Jefferson Center has led several philanthropic efforts to unite our community and secure a future of hope to everyone who calls it home. Our Spring Soiree kicked off the year with dedicated funds for our substance use disorder programs. Donors and community partners helped raise nearly $50,000 for recovery services plus more than $165,000 in total funds raised that night.

In May, Rheinlander Bakery partnered with us to raise several hundred dollars for our programs with specialty cupcakes to celebrate Mental Health Month.
As fall began in September, Hope;ink continued our spread of hope with its annual semicolon tattoo event, spanning across the Denver area and even outside of Colorado at one site. Over 450 unique semicolon designs were inked on to our neighbors to celebrate a loved one, their own story, or just let others know they are never alone. Because of these efforts, over $40,000 was raised to support Jefferson Center’s suicide prevention efforts.

And as winter arrived, missions to support the unhoused and food insecure became even more important. Since last year, our Solid Ground housing facility has been home to dozens of residents who were recently unhoused and are now in an environment built on healing and care. Continued help from our community, such as food and clothing drives and a refrigerator donated by Appliance Factory have kept Solid Ground full of more than just material items but hope for all who call it home.

We capped off this year of hope and giving with a tremendous gift from our own neighbors and community partners through Colorado Gives Day, where more than $113,000 was graciously raised to support Jefferson Center.
Philanthropy is the connection of passion and generosity to a mission and can be shown in many ways. But at its very core, it means just one thing: hope. And that hope is spread every day through positive action and change in our community. Every feat, no matter how small, can spread hope to those around you and change our world for the better.
